STRATFORD Town hit the woodwork twice in a frustrating goalless draw away at Banbury United.
The Bards missed the chance to move back into the play-off places at Spencer Stadium.
And the result leaves Stratford sixth in the Southern League Premier Central table, outside of the play-off spots on goal difference.
Banbury went close early on with an effort just past the post before Jack Storer fired a shot inches over the crossbar at the other end after good work from Charlie Williams.
And the Bards went close again later in the half as Jamie Molyneux drove a shot against the post from 20-yards out.
Bards trio Callum Ebanks, Storer and Dan Lafferty all saw half-chances come and go while Banbury saw a penalty appeal waved away by the referee before the break.
Banbury improved after the break but failed to seriously trouble Jake Weaver in the Bards goal.
However, the Bards struck the woodwork for a second time when Lafferty’s effort came back off the post with Storer’s powerful follow-up bravely blocked by a Banbury defender.
Stratford travel to Redditch United on Saturday, April 5 with kick-off at 3pm at the Valley Stadium.
