STRATFORD Town ended a run of seven games without a win in all competitions after securing a 2-1 victory against Leiston.
The Bards won for the first time in over a month as goals from Lewis Ludford-Ison and Jack Storer sealed the points for the home side at the Arden Garages Stadium.
An own goal from Kory Roberts kept the visitors in the contest but the Bards held firm to take the points.
And the result means Stratford sit 14th in the Southern League Premier Central table.
The Bards broke the deadlock on 38 minutes when Ludford-Ison planted an emphatic header into the net from Fin Brennan’s corner.
And Stratford doubled their lead just two minutes after the break as Storer produced a clinical finish from substitute Max Lott’s pass.
Leiston halved the deficit on 54 minutes when Roberts inadvertently headed a corner from the right into his own net.
The Bards saw Storer stretchered off later in the second half while Leiston hit the crossbar at the death as the hosts clung on to the points.
Stratford are next in action against Halesowen Town on Tuesday, November 25 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Arden Garages Stadium.
