STRATFORD Town ended a run of eight games without a win after securing a 2-0 home victory against bottom club Royston Town.
Goals from Owen James and Kory Roberts earned the Bards a first league win since the end of January at the Arden Garages Stadium.
The result means Stratford sit 13th in the Southern League Premier Central table.
Royston’s only chance of the first period saw Archie Locke shoot wide when well-placed.
At the other end, Charlie Wragg twice went close for the Bards as the home pressed for an opener.
And Stratford eventually broke the deadlock on 23 minutes when James poked home from close range after Wragg’s initial header came back off the crossbar.
The Bards doubled their lead after the break on 58 minutes as Roberts pounced to score from a few yards out to seal the points.
Stratford are next in action against Stourbridge on Saturday, March 21 with kick-off at 3pm at the War Memorial Athletic Ground.
