CALLUM Ebanks’ late goal helped Stratford Town to a 1-0 victory against St Ives Town as the Bards brought an end to their three-game losing run in the league.
Ebanks struck six minutes from time at the Arden Garages Stadium and has now scored in all but one of the club’s league victories this season.
And the result means Stratford sit 12th in the Southern League Premier Central table.
The Bards made a bright start as Ebans headed wide early on before St Ives forward Tiago Nassunculo hit the base of the post at the other end.
Stratford almost took the lead just before half time only for Edward Brearey to make a superb save to keep out Dan Lafferty’s header with the ball destined for the corner of the goal.
Chances were at a premium in the second half before Ebanks scored the winner on 84 minutes, bundling the ball home at the back post from Chris Hussey’s corner.
Stratford are next in action away at Berkhamsted on Tuesday, October 24 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Glencar Community Stadium.
