STRATFORD Town conceded three penalties in a disappointing 3-0 defeat against local rivals Nuneaton Borough as Matthew Stenson scored a hat-trick.
The Bards gave away three spot kicks as Stenson made no mistake from 12-yards out on three separate occasions at the Arden Garages Stadium.
And the result means Stratford sit 12th in the Southern League Premier Central table.
Nuneaton took the lead against the run of play on 24 minutes as Stenson scored his first penalty of the game after Liam Daly brought down veteran striker Leroy Lita in the box.
And Stenson finished from the spot again on 43 minutes after Jack Storer fouled Kane Richards in the area following a fine run by the Nuneaton player.
Stenson completed his hat-trick in injury time with his third successful penalty of the match after Owen Oseni drew a foul in the box on an afternoon to forget for Gavin Hurren’s men.
Stratford are next in action at home to Basford United on Saturday, October 7 in the FA Trophy with kick-off at 3pm at the Arden Garages Stadium.
