EARLSWOOD Town suffered a heavy 7-0 defeat against runaway league leaders and local rivals Knowle.

The Earls trailed by five goals at the break at the Draintech Community Stadium and have now conceded 24 goals in their last four league outings.

And the result means Earlswood sit 11th in the Midland Football League Division Two table.

The Earls made the worst possible start as Hayden Purves sent Alfie Pyott the wrong way from the penalty spot after Luke Woodward fouled George Seeley in the box just two minutes into the contest.

And the Robins doubled their lead five minutes later as Jack Duggan powered home a header to leave the visitors stunned.

The home side struck again on 11 minutes when Odane Barnes touched home another Duggan header.

And Callum Burston-Keeley took the game out of Earlswood’s reach before teeing up Zak Parsons just before the break as the Robins led by five goals at the interval.

Knowle picked up where they left off after the break as Burston-Keeley grabbed his second of the game within minutes of the restart.

And Purves completed the scoring early in the second period to leave the Earls without a league win since November.

Earlswood are next in action against Fairfield Villa on Saturday, February 1 with kick-off at 2.15pm at The Pavilions.
