FOOTBALL - Earlswood Town hit for five by relegation rivals Bolehall

EARLSWOOD Town came crashing back down to Earth after suffering a heavy 5-0 defeat against relegation rivals Bolehall Swifts.

A first-half hat-trick from Kyle Adams left the Earls stunned before Nick Clarke’s penalty and an injury time goal from Marcus Mollison completed the scoring at Rene Road.

And Earlswood goalkeeper Ethan Pheasey saved a second Clarke penalty in a tired display as the Earls played their fifth game in the space of just nine days.

Adams pounced on an early mistake to open the scoring before Clarke converted from the penalty spot on 14 minutes after Joe Tobin committed a foul in the box.

And Adams doubled his tally for the game after capitalising on a defensive mix-up on 43 minutes before completing his hat-trick before the interval.

The Earls looked to respond after the break as both Jamie Eden and Harry Street missed gilt-edged chances.

Pheasey then kept out Clarke’s identical spot kick later in the half following a foul from substitute Rhemel Boateng.

However, Bolehall scored their fifth goal in injury time when Mollison’s hopeful effort from distance squirmed through Pheasey’s legs.

Earlswood are next in action against Lane Head on Saturday, April 27 with kick-off at 3pm at The Pavilions.
