NORTON Lindsey and Wolverton Cricket Club have been crowned league champions following a post-season investigation.
The club initially finished as league runners-up in Division Two of the Cotswold Hills League behind winners Henley-in-Arden.
However, Norton were handed the title at the Cotswold Hills League end-of-season presentation evening.
A post-season investigation discovered Henley fielded an ineligible player in two league matches.
This resulted in the league deducting points from Henley which elevated Norton to top spot.
Henley still secured promotion but missed out on the title due to the deducted points.
Norton will play in Division One of the Cotswold Hills League next season.
