Boxing duo turn on the style

Stratford Editorial 3rd Feb, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016

STRATFORD & District Boxing Academy fighters travelled to Surrey at the weekend for their first bouts of 2015.

Fourteen-year-old Evesham resident Jason Johnson was up against Jordan McDonagh of Hanwell School of Boxing (West London) and Jason gave an excellent performance against a tough opponent to come out with a well deserved unanimous decision.

Sixteen-year-old Miriam Zouhou was competing in only the second bout of her career and also was awarded an unanimous decision against Chloe Letwin of Turner’s Boxing Academy (Surrey).

The boxers received a standing ovation from the crowd at the end of the bout.

Stratford & District Boxing Academy head coach Mat Pickering said: “This was the best female bout I have witnessed for a long time.

“Both Jason and Miriam boxed superbly and I am looking forward to seeing these two box a lot more this season.”
