Bidford juniors enjoy finals day

THERE was an increased turnout for this year’s Bidford Tennis Club Championship Junior Finals Day.

Junior secretary Anne Dewsbury said: “This year more children entered the tournaments which ran throughout the whole day.

“We continue to have a strong junior membership for a two-court village club and now have a good balance of younger players and teenagers.”

Results: U16 boys’ winner: Adam Farrow; runner-up: Matt Gray.

U12 mixed winner: Henry Beer; runner-up: Alex Beach.

8 years and under winner: Robert Sellicks; runner-up: Reeve Carter.

Medal of Merit for best Sportsmanship: Max Weston.

Gary Mayrick Cup for Most Promising Player: Michael McDermott.
