STRATFORD AC’s women’s team have set up an exciting finale to the Midland Vets Track and Field competition after they moved to within one point of the current leaders with just one fixture remaining.
A successful night on home territory saw Stratford move one point behind leaders Worcester Athletics Club.
The 100m proved a winning distance for SAC athletes with three first places, three seconds, two thirds and three more athletes also earning points for the club – which equated to over 25 per cent of the evening’s points tally in one discipline.
And race walking was another success with SAC athletes who claimed 30 out of a possible 32 points, while Ben Kruze cemented his place in the UK top-20 rankings for age with a 1500m personal best (PB) and club record, finishing 35 seconds ahead of the field.
