STRATFORD-upon-Avon School will be represented by two Year 13 pupils and one Year 9 pupil at the English Schools’ Senior Boys Cross Country finals this month.

Alex Pester and Josh Dobedoe finished fifth and eighth respectively in the Kineton qualifying race to secure their place at the finals.

They will now race in the final in Kent on Saturday, March 19 whilst  Zak Lambert has also been selected to represent the school based on his qualifying runs.

The race takes place over 6.9km and will have students from all over the nation competing.

And it will be Josh’s second finals qualification, having previously participated when in Year 11.

Josh said: “I will be really happy to represent the Stratford again in what will be my final race for the school.

Alex, who only began running 18 months ago said: “I am really looking forward to running it next month.”

Mr Guy Wnuk, Curriculum Leader for PE added: “We have had some really strong cross country runners over the years and it is particularly pleasing to have two senior boys qualify in Year 13 now that the competitions are operating again.

“They are all strong contenders and I am sure they will do well.”
