STRATFORD-upon-Avon Athletic Club finished as runners-up in Division One of the Heart of England Junior League.
Stratford finished behind by rivals Rugby and Northampton AC with the club unable to field their strongest team in any of the four meetings over the course of the season.
And the battle for top spot went to the final meeting in Kettering as athletes competed in appalling conditions with rain lashing down throughout the day.
Rugby and Northampton dominated the track events, with Stratford close behind in most of the races.
However, Stratford picked up big points in the field events which proved a much closer contest between the seven competing teams.
The revised scoring system meant aggregate points across the three age groups would decide the overall winner with more than 80 athletes representing Stratford throughout the season.
