STRATFORD-Upon-Avon Athletic Club athlete Paula Williams came away with five medals at the prestigious British Masters Track and Field Championships in London.

Despite almost missing her first event due to hold-ups on the M25, Williams won medals in the sprint hurdles, javelin, triple jump, shot put and 60-metres.

And Williams began day one with the sprint hurdles, running a season’s best time of 9.90 seconds to win a silver medal before then topping the podium in the javelin with a throw of 32.79 metres.

That success came despite not having thrown a javelin in competition since last summer.

And Williams ended day one as it started, taking silver in the triple jump with a jump of 9.68 metres.

Day two began with Williams claiming gold in the shot put, throwing 11.89 metres to win her second event of the championships.

And after winning her heat in the 60-metres, Williams ran a time of 8.53 seconds to finish second and collect her fifth medal overall.

Williams finished the championships with two gold’s and three silver’s.
