ATHLETICS - Stratford AC athletes race at Manchester and Paris Marathon's

STRATFORD AC had six runners compete at the Manchester Marathon last weekend

The race is known for its fast course and friendly atmosphere and Stratford’s six athletes were joined by 24,000 other runners.

New club member Dan Southam was first across the line for Stratford in a time of 2 hours 44 minutes and 6 seconds.

Club training mates Drew Sambridge and Adam Evans were next to finish for Stratford as both athletes dug deep to achiveve personal best’s and finish under the three-hour mark in 2.56.48 and 2.59.17 respectivly.




James Coy also gave a strong showing and recorded a new PB with a time of 3.26.34 in only his second marathon.

There was another personal best for Wellesbourne’s Graham Hill finishing in 3.49.49 whilst last home for Stratford was club stalwart and super-supportive champion of the club’s couch to 5k group Chris Bloomfield in a time of 4.54.11.


And racing at the same time on the other side of the English channel in the Paris Marathon was Stratford’s Seth Turner who recorded a time of 2.55.31.
