A DOZEN teams served up plenty of excitement when they competed in the ninth annual Wellesbourne Bowls Club gala.
Teams of two ladies and two men were invited to take part and play commenced at 9.30am, with the finals at 6.30pm.
As well as local clubs, a team from High Wycombe competed and the event was sponsored and supported by more than 40 local businesses, shops and organisations from the area, for which Wellesbourne BC are extremely grateful.
At the presentation of prizes, the chairman of Wellesbourne BC, George Smith, thanked everyone for participation and announced that nearly £2,000 was raised which will go towards the cost of the upkeep of the bowling green.
Results: 1st – Pam Jowers (Stratford), Maurice Richards (Stratford), Wendy Harris (Stratford), Dave Bloxham (Snitterfield).
2nd – Arthur Stretton (Newton Thistle), Sheila Simco (Lilleshall), Sue Davies (Broadway), Rod Payne (Lilleshall).
3rd – Sharon Keal, Andy Keal, Debbie Bloxham, John Wyllie (all Snitterfield).
