THIS week the newly-renamed Stratford-upon-Avon & District Boxing Academy welcomed a young Romanian boxing fan called Andre, who comes from the town Brad.
Andre has been staying near Stratford along with a young lady called Claudia, from a nearby town of Orastie.
Both have been guests of a voluntary work called ‘Trans-mission Partnerships’, which offers opportunity for small teams to go into Romania to help with social projects.
Currently, Trans-mission Partnerships have been setting up a centre in both towns for special needs.
Andre loves boxing but has never had opportunity to visit a boxing centre until now, when the dream was made possible because of the kindness of the boxing academy, which opened its doors to him and even presented him with a boxing medal.
Now, Andre cannot wait to get home and tell all his friends about his experience.
