ALCESTER A and Stratford will contest the Wildmoor Spa League Junior Cup final after success in the semi-finals at Littletons Tennis Club, writes Will Scarle.

Reigning champions, Redditch HDA A pair Finlay Shannon and Caleb Ravenscroft, defeated host side Littletons, represented by Daniel Reynolds and Fraser Bennett, 6-2.

On the other court, Alcester boys Luke Clemons and Adam Haerle overcame Stratford lads George Adams and Joe Pinnock 6-4.

In round two of the matches, Alcester defeated Redditch HDA 6-2, while Stratford strolled to a 6-0 win over Littletons.

In the final round, Alcester looked favourites to qualify with four points, while both Stratford and Redditch HDA had everything to play for with two points apiece.

Alcester maintained a 100 per cent record by beating Littletons 6-0, while Stratford qualified as runners-up after beating Redditch HDA 6-0.

The losing pairs at the play-offs – Littletons and Redditch HDA – were presented with individual awards for winning their respective Pools B and C.

Alcester A and Stratford will play a full match final, alongside the men’s Inter-League Charity Cup final, at Wildmoor Spa Tiger Courts, Stratford, on Sunday, September 3, (2.30pm).

This will be Stratford’s first appearance in the junior final, while Alcester’s only previous appearance in 2006 saw them finish runners-up.
