Youngsters don their antlers for Stratford Foodbank's Rudolph Run

SOME 1,000 youngsters are warming up to raise vital funds for Stratford Foodbank this winter.

The Rudolph Run will see pupils running wearing reindeer antlers to help ensure no family goes hungry this Christmas.

The local primary schools taking part are Bidford Primary School, Hampton Lucy Primary, Snitterfield Primary School, St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School, Stratford Preparatory School and Quinton Primary School.

Isla Stroyan, fundraising officer at Stratford Foodbank, said: “It’s inspiring to see so many children running to support their neighbours. At Christmas, demand for our help is at its highest, and this fundraising event means we can keep shelves stocked and provide families not just with food, but with dignity and hope.”

The foodbank, part of the Trussell network, has seen demand rise sharply in recent years. Initiatives like the Rudolph Run not only raise money but also bring communities together in solidarity with families facing hardship.

Isla added: “It has been brilliant to host school assemblies and let children know about the difference they can make to local people this winter. It means so much to know we have support from our local community as we work towards ending hunger for all.”
