Work begins to transform vacant Stratford building into supported housing

WORK has begun to transform a vacant building in Stratford into supported housing.

The redevelopment of One Evesham Place will transform the former bail hostel into a supportive living environment, offering much-needed accommodation as part of Stratford District Council’s housing pathway.

The project is designed to serve individuals seeking long-term housing who do not require 24/7 support, providing a vital stepping stone toward independent living.

SDC’s housing spokesperson Coun Liz Coles said: “This redevelopment represents a significant step in our ongoing efforts to meet local housing need. It will provide a safe and nurturing environment, helping individuals to rebuild their lives.”

Initial works include the demolition of the existing interior with comprehensive works to the building’s exterior followed by a full interior fit-out.

SDC added it is committed to ensuring the design of the new development is sensitive to the existing streetscape and complements the character of the surrounding area.
