Which services are closed or reduced in Warwickshire on the Queen's funeral day?

SERVICES across Warwickshire are being closed or reduced to allow as many people as possible to watch the Queen’s funeral.

In line with national guidance, all schools, council offices and service points will be closed to the public on bank holiday Monday (September 19) when the Queen’s funeral takes place at Westminster Abbey.

Warwickshire County Council’s (WCC) customer service centre is closed to all routine queries on Monday (September 19). However, people can still access many services online at https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/

All the county’s libraries will be closed. Library books can be renewed online at https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/contactusregistrationservices




Mobile library routes scheduled to go out on Monday (September 19) have been postponed and will instead run on the following dates:

– Alcester Mobile A Route – Friday September 23


– Kenilworth Mobile A Route – Monday September 26.

– Bedworth Mobile A Route – Thursday September 22

All registration offices will be closed. Pre-booked ceremonies will continue as planned however and residents can still book appointments or order copy certificates online at https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/contactusregistrationservices

WCC’s household waste recycling centres will be closed. They will re-open on Tuesday (September 20). It will still be possible to book appointments online at https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/recyclingcentres

Lillington Youth Centre will be closed and for urgent social work enquiries contact the emergency duty team on 01926 886922.

A Sunday bus service timetable will be operated on all Warwickshire bus routes where an existing Sunday timetable exists.

The IndieGo Atherstone, Coleshill and Rugby DRT services will not operate.

The IndieGo PLUS DRT service to the west of Warwick and Kenilworth will operate but with a reduced number of vehicles.

And the UBUS DRT service in Stratford district will not operate.

All services will return to normal on Tuesday (September 20).
