Two Stratford district councillors resign with immediate effect

BY-ELECTIONS have been called after two councillors resigned with immediate effect from Stratford District Council.

Dominic Skinner, a Liberal Democrat, and Conservative Lauren Stanley have stepped down from their roles as district councillors representing Quinton ward and Salford Priors and Alcester Rural ward respectively.

By- elections for these wards will take place on Thursday November 20.

Nominations for these by-elections will close at 4pm on Friday 24 October.




To be able to vote at this election residents must be aged 18 or over on the day of the poll, a British, Commonwealth, Irish or Qualifying European citizen and be on the electoral register or have applied to be so by midnight on November 4.

Poll cards containing details of the by-elections in Quinton and Salford Priors and Alcester Rural and the polling station venues will be sent out from October 23.


SDC said it was not able to give reasons for the resignation of either councillor.
