Two Leamington Music directors receive summer honours

THERE is reason for fanfare at Leamington Music.

Two of its directors have been given awards this summer.

Artistic director Helen Beecroft has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Every year the conservatoire confers honorary fellowships to musicians and professionals from the world of theatre, screen, or broadcast, and to graduates or individuals who have made a significant contribution to the work and life of RBC through professional or voluntary work.

Helen graduated from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2006 and has worked continuously in the music industry ever since. Meanwhile, Richard Philips, Leamington Music’s founder and now honorary president, was awarded the Freedom of the District as part of Warwick District Council’s 50th anniversary celebrations. The prestigious awards were given to 12 people WDC deemed to have “rendered eminent services” to the community.

The 2025/26 Leamington Music Winter Season will go on sale in a few weeks’ time.
