STRATFORDIANS were invited to enter a world of pure imagination when a Willy Wonka Summer Festival took over the town.
A three day choco-tastic event set up stall on the Bancroft Gardens and Waterside from Tuesday (August 16) to Thursday (August 18) with a host of Willy Wonka-inspired fun and games for the whole family.
There was a chance to spot some of the characters from Roald Dahl’s legendary tale among the crowd including Charlie Bucket and the odd umpa lumpa. And true to the book’s plot – one lucky festival goer won a golden ticket to be spent on treats in the town.
Other highlights included street entertainment, live music and a DJ compere, a street food court and over 80 artisan market traders to browse.
