BRING out the bunting – that’s the call from Stratford Town Trust as it announces a £10,000 pot has been set aside to fund community parties for the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Groups or individuals from the town will be able to apply for a grant of up to £400 to pay for, or go towards, the costs of a street or tea party next summer.
Those applying could be a charity, school, organisation, club or simply a group of neighbours, but at least 20 people must attend.
The Queen’s 90th birthday will be officially marked across the world between June 10 and 12 next year.
Applications for the special grants must be submitted by January 29.
Trust spokeswoman Claire Bowry said: “This is first time the trust has created a new grant scheme for a special event and we want all corners of the community to get involved.
“The Queen’s 90th birthday will be celebrated up and down the country and across the world; it’s an opportunity to bring out the bunting and bring people
