SOME of the countries best young traders will be selling their wares in Stratford this weekend.
Over 90 young market traders who made it through to the Young Traders Market Finals 2022 will be descending on Waterside with a host of goodies for sale on Friday (August 26) and Saturday (August 27).
There will be arts and crafts, groceries, food and drink – all provided by young people who fought off tough competition from over 100 other traders to be named finalists in the annual competition.
The Young Traders Market competition is now in its 10th year and is staged by the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) – the only national organisation representing market and street traders.
The campaign is aimed at encouraging young people to come into the retail markets industry.
NMTF CEO Joe Harrison said his organisation was “more than delighted” by the support given to the initiative by Stratford District Council (SDC) and Stratford Town Council, as well as market operators LSD Promotion.
He said: “Since we moved the Young Traders Market national final to Stratford and its lovely Waterside location in 2018, we have been overwhelmed by the help and support we have been given by everyone involved.
“And the shopping public have also thrown their weight behind the campaign — let’s hope this will be another bank holiday weekend cracker.”
Stalls will be running from 10am to 5pm on both days.
