The Heart of England Forest branches out with evening volunteering

THE HEART of England Forest is branching out with evening volunteering sessions.

The social gatherings are being held every Wednesday between 6.30pm and 8.30pm in various areas of the forest within easy reach of Stratford for those who are unable to give their time during the day or at weekends.

Volunteer manager Jonathan Saunders said: “This new program offers a wonderful opportunity for individuals to learn about our natural world and how we manage it, make new friends, keep fit, and make a real difference to our local wildlife and habitats.”

Dedicated to conservation and wildlife protection and helping to preserve and enhance our natural environment, each evening will have a different activity ensuring a varied and enriching experience.

Activities include wildlife surveys, heathland management, tree guard removal, and boardwalk maintenance.

No prior experience is necessary, and all tools and guidance will be provided.
