The Friends of Shakespeare's Church seek volunteers for pivotal roles

THE FRIENDS of Shakespeare’s Church is seeking volunteers for pivotal roles.

FOSC is in need of a new Chair and a new Treasurer to help the charity move forward with its next phase of supporting the preservation and restoration of Holy Trinity Church in Stratford.

The Friends play a vital role in conserving and repairing the church and keeping it open for all to enjoy.

They are looking for a new Chair to lead FOSC who has experience in leadership, communications and fundraising. The Board meets about four times a year and has an events sub group.

There is also an opportunity available for a Treasurer who is willing to spare a few hours each month. This role would suit someone with financial experience who can maintain the bank accounts and financial records, prepare financial reports and attend six meetings each year.

Dr Diana Owen OBE, Vice-Chairman of FOSC, said: “This really is a great time to join us as we have an exciting programme of events in store as we work to raise £1 million over the next five years to fund essential repairs in this wonderful historic building linked to Shakespeare’s life.”
