A DRINK driver who was spotted by police swerving across the road has been disqualified from driving.

Trust Diya, from Myott Avenue in Newcastle under Lyme, was arrested at 2am on December 30 on Evesham Road in Stratford.

When officers spoke to him, he appeared heavily intoxicated and tests later found he was almost four times over the drink drive limit of 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath blowing 130 microgrammes. He was also found to be driving without insurance or a driving licence.

Due to the seriousness of the offences, he was disqualified from driving for 36 months and sentenced to a Community Order with a 20 day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement when he appeared at Leamington Magistrates Court.

He was also sentenced to 200 hours of supervised unpaid work and ordered to pay £135 costs and £114 victim surcharge.
