Students litter pick around Stratford College

Stratford Editorial 14th Dec, 2022   0

GREEN-thinking students and staff at Stratford College have been litter picking.

The litter picking team split into groups – and armed with bin bags and rubbish grabbers – cleaned up the college grounds and the surrounding area.

The college is currently undertaking a multi-million-pound refurbishment project and its students and staff are keen to uphold the college’s high standards of cleanliness throughout.

The group will now be meeting once a month to upkeep the green aesthetic on campus.

Assistant Principal, Sandra White, said: “Stratford College’s students and staff have really shown that they care how their college is perceived and presented. We are going through a huge phase of redevelopment, and it is important that we make improvements in every area we can. By committing to reducing litter and increasing the awareness and importance of recycling it is also a huge step to reaching our sustainability goals.”

Litter picking team leader and Campus Co-ordinator, Jackie Handy, was proud of the team.

She said: “It really shows that the college’s students and staff have pride and a commitment to improve the environment, also with a view to raising awareness of littering and recycling within the local community.”
