THE HUSBAND and wife duo behind Stratford Town Walk (SWT) have been seeing not double, but triple this year.
And with three reasons for the STW founders, Helen and John Hogg, to celebrate – the 20th anniversary of their walking tours business, their 40th wedding anniversary and being awarded Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award for 2022 – the couple decided to give something back.
As a result, Helen and John donated all the earnings from one of their walks to cancer units at Warwick and Stratford Hospitals.
They presented a cheque for £1,000 to Jake Barlow, a fundraiser for SWFT Cancer Care, at a handing over ceremony at the Swan Fountain on the Bancroft Gardens on Tuesday (August 2). This was followed by a slap up lunch at El Greco for all the STW guides – their first social get-together since the start of the pandemic.
Helen Hogg told the Observer: “We have always recognised the importance of supporting our lovely town in a positive way and wanted to give something back.
“Many people have supported Stratford Town Walk through the years – businesses, accommodation providers, locals, Stratford District Council and local media and thanks to everyone. We appreciate it.”
