Stratford shoplifter jailed after stealing £350 worth of food

A PROLIFIC shoplifter has been jailed for stealing food worth more than £350 from Stratford shops.

Fedi Macauley was sentenced at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Saturday June 15 for six offences. He was already serving a suspended prison sentence having been convicted of shoplifting in April.

The 29-year-old, of Guild Street, Stratford was given a 20-week custodial sentence after pleading guilty to six counts of theft.

Officers arrested him at his home address on Friday (June 14).

The offences occurred between May 1 and June 12.

On Tuesday and Wednesday last week he stole more than £300 worth of meat joints from a shop in the Maybird Centre.

Sergeant Ben James-Pemberton said: “We’re really pleased with this result that sees another prolific shoplifter put behind bars. Hopefully, this sends a strong message to criminals that we are looking for you and we will bring you to justice.”
