EAGER pupils put their French to the test as they got a taste of working life in Paris.

Pupils from Stratford School spent four days in Paris as part of the school’s annual French work experience trip.

The year 11s – who will be sitting their GCSE exams in the summer – worked in a variety of places from a hotel reception, bakery, grocery shop, department store and a secondary school.

Trip organiser and languages teacher, Beatrice Dalleau-White, said: “Being able to test their skills in a real placement like this has an amazing effect on the students’ abilities and confidence and why we have made the trip an annual event.

“We find this hands on experience is incredibly beneficial, which is why we have made connections in France and Spain to support our students’ learning and trips like this along with our French and Spanish exchanges really support our learning in the classroom.”

The school is looking forward to welcoming students from their French partner school in April.
