Stratford residents evacuated following rupture to gas main

RESIDENTS living to the south of Stratford had to be evacuated this morning (Tuesday) after a gas main was ruptured.

Police are working with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and gas specialists following a collision on the B4632 Clifford Lane at around 10am which resulted in the gas main being damaged.

A safety cordon was rapidly put up and nearby buildings evacuated.

Gas experts are working to repair the gas main and the road is currently still closed.




Experts continue to monitor the situation and if anything changes residents will be visited and informed.

Police also warned there may also be a smell a gas in the area and to shut windows and remain in doors if possible.
