AN OPTICIAN from Stratford has been walking on hot coals to bank cash for charity.
The team at Specsavers in Wood Street came out to support their colleague Amy Campbell at the Myton Firewalk recently.
Amy took on the ultimate mind-over-matter challenge of walking over hot coals in aid of the Myton Hospice – which supports people living with a terminal illness, and their families – raising £150.
Specsavers store director, Andrew Eaves, said: ‘We’re all so proud of Amy for taking on such a huge challenge to raise money for Myton Hospice. The Firewalk was a fantastic way to raise awareness for such an important cause.
‘We nominated Myton Hospice as our charity to support for the year, and we’ve managed to raise more than £700 from various fundraising events.’
The team will also be donning their best festive outfits on Christmas Jumper Day – Thursday December 8 – to raise even more cash for the charity.
