Stratford indoor obstacle course free for free school meal youngsters

Stratford Editorial 20th Jul, 2023   0

STRATFORD Leisure Centre’s indoor obstacle course is free for children eligible for free school meals.

The free TAGactive sessions are available throughout the summer holidays as part of the national Holiday Activities and Food programme.

There will be daily weekday sessions at the interactive indoor obstacle course, as well as nutritious free lunches.

The HAF initiative aims to ensure that children from families who are eligible for free school meals can enjoy an active and engaging summer break.

Stratford District Council’s neighbourhood spokesperson Coun Lorraine Grocott said: “Being healthy and active is a vital part of growing up. Being part of this programme provides not just the benefits of a nutritious meal, but also the chance to take part in activities some children may not otherwise have exposure to.

“I’m delighted the district council is supporting this scheme which provides much needed help for families.”

TAGactive is a game for all ages and takes place in a neon-lit arena. Since opening in February 2022, more than fifteen thousand people have taken part on the course, with tasks similar to Total Wipeout or Ninja Warrior.

Sessions will take place every weekday, starting on Wednesday July 26 until Friday September 1.

Advance registration is required.
