Stratford golfers raise almost £20,000 for charity

GOLFERS in Stratford have proved their fundraising skills are par excellence.

Stratford Golf Club presented a cheque for just over £19,600 to Penny Dyer-Griffiths from Alzheimer’s Research UK – the chosen charity of club captain Mike Bainton and ladies’ captain Annette Howell.

This fundraising effort represents a range of social, golf and raffle events held throughout their captaincy year, which concluded at the end of March.

In accepting the cheque with grateful thanks, Penny recognised the huge amount of effort that had been made in raising such a phenomenal sum and emphasised the importance that such a significant donation would play in helping to find a cure for Alzheimers.
