LUNCH hampers are available for supported families over the school summer holidays.
Stratford Foodbank is upping its support over the holiday period by handing out the hampers to those who need them.
The lack of school meal provision during the holidays can make it difficult for some families to put food on the table.
As a result, families receiving an emergency food parcel will also receive, as an addition, a children’s lunch hamper. The lunch hamper will include enough food for week-day packed lunches for children in the household. This will start to be included from July 24 until the start of September.
All the referral agencies and local schools who raise food vouchers for families in need of support have received information about the addition of children’s lunch hampers. Information about free/discounted meal options in Stratford and the surrounding area will also be included.
If residents wish to support these lunch hampers over the summer holidays, Stratford Foodbank would be grateful for donations of soup, squash/juice and tinned sandwich fillings.
