Stratford Foodbank organises another doorstep tin challenge

A DOORSTEP tin challenge for Stratford Foodbank is being held in Bridgetown on October 3.

Residents are being invited to donate cupboard staples to help local community members. After a very successful doorstep challenge in Tiddington in March, the foodbank is hoping that residents of Bridgetown will rise to the challenge and give much-needed donations.

Asher Deakin, the Foodbank Manager said: “Just one tin of food could make a real difference to a local family who are finding it hard to feed their children. We are in need of instant mash, long life milk, pasta sauces, squash, long life fruit juices and tinned vegetables. We would be very grateful for toiletries such as deodorants, shower gels, shampoos, toothpastes and nappies.

“We ask that the food is in date as we cannot give out ‘out of date’ products. The town has such a wonderful community spirit – we are so thankful to all who help to ensure no one goes hungry in Stratford.”

Donations need to be left on the doorstep by 9am for volunteers to collect.
