Stratford domestic abuse survivors urged to share their stories

SURVIVORS of domestic abuse across the district are being invited to share their stories to help improve support.

Stratford District Council has teamed up with Warwickshire County Council in a bid to collect the experiences of those who have suffered domestic abuse in order to better understand why people find it hard to reach out for support.

Experiences can be submitted via www.talk2someone.org.uk or by emailing [email protected]

SDC’s law and governance spokesperson Coun Natalie Gist said: ” Domestic abuse in all its forms is more common than many of us could imagine. The suffering and trauma endured by victims continues long after any abuse ceases. There are many statutory services and support services in Warwickshire.

“Nevertheless, we very much appreciate the help and experience of those who have survived domestic abuse, whether reported or not.  It is essential that the lived experience of survivors is the heart of improving local support and helps us to break down any barriers to that support that may exist.”
