PLASTIC can now be recycled in the district.
Stratford District Council’s recycling service is expanding to include the collection of plastic bags and wrapping.
This will be collected fortnightly along with the normal recycling.
Recycled plastic bags and wrapping can be used to make new plastic products such as plastic packaging, ‘bags for life’, boxes, bins, and agricultural and construction materials.
Both the plastic bags and the wrapping should be empty and free from food residue and other contaminations.
Items that can be recycled now include all plastic carrier bags, salad/fruit/vegetable bags, frozen food bags, bread bags, cereal bags, flower bags, confectionary wrappers, foil lined packaging, crisp/snack packets, coffee bags, cheese, fish and meat wrapping, toilet and kitchen roll wrapping, removeable film lids, bubble wrap, cling film and fruit and vegetable nets.
