Stratford charity wants residents old stamps

UNUSED stamps are wanted to help support the almhouses in Stratford.

Municipal Charities is urging residents who may have any old unused stamps in their wallets or desk drawers to donate them.

New barcoded stamps have replaced old ones which no longer be used, but they can be sent to Municipal Charities to support the running of their almshouses in the town.

Municipal Charities chief executive William Clemmey said: “If every resident of Stratford found just one unused first and second class stamp and sent them to us we could run our two smallest almshouses for a year.”

Post or drop in any unused stamps to Stamp Appeal, Municipal Charities, 6 Guild Cottages, Church Street, Stratford CV37 6HD.
