Stratford care home celebrates National Mad Hatter's Day

IT WAS a double celebration for mad hatters at a Stratford care home.

A tea party was thrown at Lower Meadow care home, not only to mark National Mad Hatter’s Day but also to celebrate home manager Rachel’s birthday.

The care team dressed up in whimsical hats and rolled out the red carpet for residents as the home was transformed into a wonderland.

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party came complete with an afternoon tea and party games.

And what made the day extra special was the surprise birthday celebration for Rachel.

While she had been aware of the planned tea party, she was blissfully unaware that her team had orchestrated a birthday celebration in her honour.

Deputy manager Jasmine Kessey said: “We wanted to create an event that would bring joy to our residents and staff and what better way to do that than by embracing the enchantment of National Mad Hatter’s Day.

“It’s a day to celebrate imagination, whimsy and the joy of coming together and, of course, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make home manager, Rachel’s birthday extra special. Her leadership has been a cornerstone of our home, and we’re thrilled to celebrate her in this unique way.”
