CHALLENGING times have not stopped a visitor attraction from awards success.
Stratford Butterfly Farm was awarded the Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2020 and bagged first place in the Stratford in Bloom competition in the Tourism Properties category.
Although – because of it being the only attraction with open gardens in Stratford – it was the only Stratford in Bloom tourism entrant, the judges unanimously agreed its display of colourful wildflowers alone, earned it the top-spot. The wildflower garden, and lavender lining the entrance pathway, was prepared during lockdown and bloomed in time for the farm’s re-opening in July. The annual Stratford in Bloom presentation evening took place virtually this month to celebrate local gardening achievements. The butterfly farm received an engraved trophy and certificate.
Each year, Tripadvisor, the world’s largest travel website, pulls together all the reviews and ratings travellers share from across the globe — and uses it to spotlight the best. Traveller’s Choice recognises businesses which earn consistently great user reviews and winners are ranked among the top ten per cent of businesses on the site.
Marketing manager Jane Kendrick said: “The team are absolutely delighted to have won these two awards and have something to celebrate. We opened our wildflower garden back in 2010 and it’s an incredibly special haven in which butterflies can live. The team are immensely proud of the positive feedback the farm has received and would like to thank everyone that has taken the time to leave a review on Tripadvisor. This accolade is a remarkable vote of confidence to our business, especially in these unprecedented times.”
