Staff decorate Christmas tree in support of charity close to their hearts

A LEAMINGTON-based PR agency is showing support for a charity close to its heart after decorating a Christmas tree in its name.

R&Co Communications, based in Warwick Place, has decorated a tree at Leamington’s popular Christmas Tree Festival to raise money and awareness for Speranta Shelter, which translates to The Hope Shelter.

The R&Co team has recently started working with Speranta to help spread news of its work. Part of the project included the Leamington team visiting the shelter in Bucharest to meet the staff and Speranta’s some 500 dogs.

The ‘Tree of Hope for Speranta’s Dogs’ is on display at All Saints Parish Church until Sunday 7 December. Decorations on the tree highlight some of the dogs who are available to sponsor, with QR codes on the tree which link to the charity’s website.

The Speranta Shelter rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes across Romania, including elderly and disabled dogs. It also has a focus on education and sterilisation to improve the overall situation in the country, which is believed to be home to between 500,000 and one million strays.

R&Co managing director, Peter Robinson said: “We’re proud to be working with such an amazing charity and wanted to show our support during the festive season.

“Christmas is the perfect time of year to help spread the word about Speranta’s life-changing work, and where better than in our hometown of Leamington, where we know there are plenty of dog lovers like us!”
