Southam care home rated among the top 20 in the West Midlands

A CARE home in Southam has been recognised as one of the best in the West Midlands, following positive feedback from residents and their families.

The Royal British Legion, Galanos House care home has been named a Top 20 Care Home in the West Midlands by carehome.co.uk, the UK’s leading website for finding and choosing a care home. The award places Galanos House among the top-rated homes out of 1,576 care homes across the West Midlands.

The accolade is based entirely on independent reviews written by residents, along with their friends and relatives.

carehome.co.uk helps families understand their care home options, explore what is available locally, build a shortlist and arrange viewings with homes that best match their individual needs.

It lists all registered care homes in the UK and provides verified reviews, inspection ratings and transparent fee information. It also operates a free expert care helpline to support people searching for care.

There are nearly 17,000 care homes across the UK, caring for around half a million people.

Jo-Anne Wilson, registered manager of The Royal British Legion, Galanos House, said: “Being named among the Top 20 care homes in the West Midlands is an incredible honour for everyone at Galanos House. What makes this recognition so special is that it is based on independent reviews from our residents and their families. It tells us that the people who matter most feel the warmth, dignity and respect that sit at the heart of everything we do.

“As part of the Royal British Legion, our ethos is rooted in service, integrity, and compassion. We are privileged to care for veterans and their families, and we never forget the sacrifices they have made. Honouring their Armed Forces connection while delivering exceptional, person-centred care is something we take great pride in every single day.

“This award truly belongs to our hard-working employees and volunteers. They go above and beyond in ways that often aren’t seen – through small acts of kindness, patience, professionalism, and genuine friendship.”
