A SLAP up dinner aims to help raise the roof of Henley-in-Arden’s historic Guild Hall.
The High Street hall dates back nearly 600 years and is a town landmark. It plays hosts to the Court Leet and many community events and celebrations.
But £120,000 now needs to be raised to replace the current roof and preserve the building for future generations.
The meal will be served at The Black Swan on July 22 and will see up to 100 diners, including the town’s Court Leet, enjoy a specially created three course menu.
The Black Swan re-opened last year following a major restoration and refurbishment project.
General manager Elliott Sturdey said: “We are delighted to be hosting this event for the Guild Hall to support their fundraising efforts to replace the roof. We recognise the importance of this building and how much it means to the community and we look forward to welcoming guests for what promises to be a fun evening of food and entertainment.”
Tickets are priced at £40 for a three course meal with £12 of the ticket price donated to the Guild Hall roof appeal.
