Shakespeare busts take centre stage

SHAKESPEARE busts are taking centre stage at a tourist hotspot in Stratford.

Visitors to Shakespeare’s Schoolroom and Guildhall will be able to see a display of Shakespeare busts decorated by artists, put themselves in the frame with a selfie opportunity and enter a competition to see their own Shakespearean design come to life.

Some of the colourful busts of Shakespeare have been decorated by local artists including Jon Stiff of Stiffy Art, who is renowned for his abstract work.

And budding artists can have a go themselves. The competition to design a Shakespeare bust is free to enter and runs throughout August.

All the entries will form a mini exhibition in the Master Chamber with the winning bust being specially recreated to go on public display in October.

A craft table with lots of drawing materials will be available so youngsters can complete their design during their visit, or they can create their design at home and post it to arrive before August 31.
