Seaside set to come to Stratford this summer

Stratford Editorial 10th Jul, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

THE SEASIDE will be coming to Stratford again this summer.

The RSC is repeating Stratford-on-Sea – a host of free family fun on the Bancroft Terrace of the RST running from July 18 to September 6.

Visitors can become a Shakespeare character by sticking their head through the funny faces board, or spin the wheel of fortune to decide a play and a part to act out on the stage, complete with props.

Inflated masterpieces will be created by modelling group Balloonatic, Punch and Judy will be up to their old tricks and an interactive beach will also feature through the school holidays.

There will also be plenty of people dropping by to entertain, from BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award nominee David Gibb on July 19 to Talking Birds’ Whale on August 2 where people can enter the jaws of an aluminium whale for a short theatre show.

And artist Scott Walker will create a giant cartoon seaside scene on the Bancroft Terrace over the weekend of July 25 and 26, with a seaside-style pavement art workshop on August 22 and 23.
