SPRIGHTLY retirees took Stratford by storm with a flash mob for VE Day.
The troop of seniors from Great Alne Park descended on Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Henley Street for a specially choreographed 1940s dance display to wartime classics including White Cliffs of Dover, Glen Miller’s In the Mood and We’ll Meet Again.
They whipped off their overcoats to reveal 1940s-style costumes and Winston Churchill even made an appearance.
The residents, who are all over 75, put together the special performance to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day on May 8 1945.
And this isn’t the first time the retirees have surprised the town with a flash mob.
Back in 2023 they donned their lycra for a specially choreographed performance to mark National Fitness Day.
